Installation Manager

Video Corporation of America is looking to hire an AV Installation Manager with a minimum of 5 years of experience with Rack fabrication, Field Management of a team of 5 or more, and NYC new construction. This position reports to the Director of Technical Operations and works closely with the Installation/Fabrication team, Project Managers, Testing + Verification, Subcontractors, Warehouse, Programmers, Other VCA management team members, and Customers. This role is a salaried position. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30-4:30pm; however, weekends and other hours will be required to meet deadlines when necessary.

Oversight and Management of the Install Team
Recruit, Hire, Review the staff
Establish a career path for each individual in the department with VCA Management
Mentor the individuals, arrange training, and facilitate their career development
Establish, publish, and communicate a technician training program from Level 1 through Lead technician
Ensure the department has proper tools, equipment, and technical knowledge for the safe and professional performance of their assignments, including department vehicles
Communicate weekly project fabrication status to the PM team
Guide Technicians and ensure the execution of the AV9000-based VCA QC Process
Liaise with Engineering team to communicate issues found in designs prior to system fab

Motivate teams to work together in the most efficient manner
Approve timesheets and be sure correct project ID’s are listed
Complete projects on time and within budget
Log instances to aid in tracking project difficulties to limit future occurrences
Consistent review of each completed project for Lessons Learned
Maintain staff utilization 75% or above
Coordinate with PM’s and set goals and timelines
Articulate the established goals to stakeholders
Provide feedback to team members through verbal instructions as well as yearly reviews
Produce and maintain labor forecasts
Participate in weekly meetings with the team and Director of Technical Operations
Lead by example
Coordinate and identify OSHA requirements at project sites and coordinate the acquisition and delivery of all support items needed
Scheduled subcontract labor
Regular visits to jobsites

At least 5 years of Rack Fab and Field Management of a team with 5 or more employees
A solid understanding of Trade Labor Practices in NYC. Knowledge of jobsite hierarchy and management and  NYC new construction
OSHA 10 Certified
Ability to read and understand system, electrical, AutoCAD, and other construction drawings
Strong electronic and mechanical abilities as related to rack fab and field install of flat panel monitors, projectors, and speakers
Understanding of structured data/AV cable infrastructure and installation practices in the industry
Microsoft Dynamics
Microsoft Office and Office 365
Programming Software
